HIGHLIGHTS ... HIGHLIGHTS ... HIGHLIGHTSJoe Gianono is a New York City based composer and arranger. He is the resident composer of the White Horse Theater Company and writes and produces music for his own record label, Joe Gianono Music, which is available thru all major digital distributors.
His music has been featured on "EXPLORING MUSIC" on WQXR, New York's premier classical music radio station hosted by Bill McGlaughlin. He composed the score for the animated short film "KITE" and contributed music to the feature film, “Somebody Marry Me” and several television shows. The Beryllium Chamber Ensemble recently recorded the cd: “BERYLLIUM performs the Chamber Music of Joe Gianono”. He recently completed “ELEGY Dialogues for Solo Cello and String Orchestra” which is dedicated to the memories of Jacqueline du Pré and Pablo Casals and is working on a new children's musical, among other things. His new ballet, “Sayadio and The Magic Cup”, based on a Native American Indian legend has been performed with choreographer, Yuka Kawazu’s “Danse En L’Air”. Joe Gianono plays guitar with his own trio, the Abe Silverman Big Band and has played with the Andy Farber Big Band featuring Hilary Kole at BIRDLAND. He also sings with “UPTOWN SOUND”, an a cappella jazz choir. He periodically lectures on Orchestration at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and at the Manhattan School of Music.
